What is Microban® Protection?
Microban protection is built-in antimicrobial protection that gives products an added level of protection against microbes such as bacteria, mold, and mildew that cause stains and odors and can lead to product deterioration. Microban is NOT a disinfectant, normal cleaning practices should be maintained. Microban protection is not designed to protect users from disease-causing microorganisms. Microban continuously fights the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold and mildew that cause stains, odors and product degradation. By continuously fighting these microbes, Microban technology makes the mat easier to keep clean and reduces odors between cleanings. How long does Microban Protection last?
Microban protection is added during the manufacturing process and will not wash off or wear away. Microban protection is engineered to provide continuous antimicrobial protection for the useful life of the wrestling mat.
What type of microorganisms does Microban protection work against?
Microban antimicrobial protection is effective against most common bacteria, yeasts, molds and fungi that cause stains and odors. Microban protection is not designed to protect users from disease-causing microorganisms. Proper maintenance, care and cleaning of the wrestling mat must still be performed on a regular basis.
Does Microban protection work immediately?
Microban antimicrobial protection begins to work as soon as the microorganism comes into contact with the product surface. It then works continuously to maintain a consistently lower bio-burden than on a product without Microban protection. Microban is NOT a disinfectant, normal cleaning practices should be maintained. Can I have Microban protection added to my existing mat?
Microban protection can be added to any existing mat during our Reconditioning process. During our reconditioning process, Resilite can apply a new vinyl coating with Microban protection. Reconditioned mats with Microban protection are easier to keep clean and reduces odors between cleanings. |
