Russ & Daughters on Martha Stewart Living Russ & Daughters on Martha Stewart Living

Martha Stewart hosted Mark Russ Federman and Niki Federman on her show, Martha Stewart Living, the nationally syndicated how-to program. Together they showed how to serve and enjoy smoked fish and herring. The segment aired Friday, April 11th. Check your local listings for station and re-air times.

The Museum of Jewish Heritage

Renowned writer and humorist, Calvin Trillin, hosted a lively conversation with five members and three generations of the Russ Family. Together they mused on 100 years of life, fish and humor from the Lower East Side. The event was held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage.

Russ & Daughters’ rise from pushcart to world-reknown boutique shop is described in Historic Shops and Restaurants of New York: A Guide to Century-Old Establishments in the City by Ellen Williams and Steve Radlauer
.

From October 2001 to January 2002, the Frankfurt Jewish Museum in Germany showed, “Milch & Herring,” an exhibition of photographs and interviews on Jewish Food Shops in New York. Russ & Daughters was featured in the exhibition, and is on the cover of the exhibition catalogue.
