Ransom Stephens specializes in the analysis of electrodynamics in high-rate digital systems and served on the electrical working groups for the PCI Express, Fully Buffered DIMM, and OIF Common Electrical Interface standards bodies. He has spent the last six years analyzing timing noise and dispersion - developing new techniques for extracting signals from noise. Upon receiving his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990, he worked in research laboratories across the United States and Europe making precise measurements of rare processes. He has been the Director of Advanced Technology at a high-tech startup, an Applied Electrodynamics Physicist and Product Manager for a test and measurement company, and is currently a Research Scientist with Teraspeed Consulting, LLC.
