Eco-Store Opens in Florida - Paper Napkins Now Made with 100 % Recycled Materials. The SUBWAY restaurant chain has made a commitment to have its restaurants and operations become more environmentally friendly. The first SUBWAY® Eco-Store opened recently in Kissimmee, Florida. The SUBWAY® Restaurants chain has attained a 1,000-store milestone for the Latin America and Caribbean region, achieved on July 27th, 2007 when a SUBWAY® location opened at a Pemex convenience store in Col. La Noria – a suburb of Mexico City DF. Our team of franchisees and field personnel continue to work well, growing closer to a lofty goal for the Latin America and Caribbean regions: 2,400 SUBWAY® stores by 2010. As of August 2007, Mexico hosts 335 SUBWAY® locations, Puerto Rico has 235, while Venezuela offers 108, Guatemala has 26, and Brazil boasts nearly 100 sites to enjoy the world’s favorite submarine sandwiches. Both vacationers and residents can find their favorite sandwiches at SUBWAY® restaurants throughout the Caribbean, including Anguilla and Aruba, the Bahamas and Cayman Islands, Grenada and Guadeloupe, Jamaica and Trinidad, as well as on the U.S. Virgin Islands. At a recent gathering to celebrate this breakthrough, a festive special cake was created to celebrate the occasion.  Mr. Fogle Goes to Washington - Jared Fogle has fans and admirers all over the world, but who would have guessed that one of his biggest fans has such a famous address – 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC.On July 15th, Jared was a guest at the White House for Little League Baseball’s “Tee Ball on the Front Lawn.” SUBWAY® Restaurants is an official sponsor of Little League Baseball. Jared was stationed at an area near the Executive Mansion, where President George W. Bush would meet with well-known V.I.P.s, including Baseball Hall of Famers (and former Major League managers) Tommy Lasorda and Frank Robinson. “We were standing near the dignitaries as the President walked toward us,” said Mack Bridenbaker, Associate Manager of Public Relations for the SUBWAY® Franchise Advertising Fund Trust. “All of a sudden, the President caught sight of Jared and said ‘Hey! You’re Jared, the SUBWAY guy!’ and came right over. He was shaking Jared’s hand, patting him on the back and calling the First Lady over to meet him.
