We offer animal diets, specialty feed including monkey, primate research, rodent, rabbit and mice nutrition. Welcome to the LabDiet Product Reference Manual. This manual is published especially for members of the Laboratory Community, like you, who need to be able to reference critical information in a concise and convenient way. Each LabDiet® is manufactured exclusively at our iso 9002 Certified, drug and synthetic estrogen-free plant in Richmond, Indiana. The process techniques we use at the plant are closely controlled to ensure your lab animals get the constant nutrition your research requires. Approximate chemical compositions of our major products can be found in the feed analysis charts. These values are calculated according to the amount of each ingredient present and its nutrient composition. We maintain constant vigilance over the nutrient content of ingredients through a program of continuous formulation analysis. Analyzing ingredients -- in addition to final products -- enables us to lessen the interaction between nutrients and achieve greater accuracy. Thus, reducing the nutritional variables in your studies.

We offer lab diets, labdiet, mouse nutrition, and laboratory chow. A well-balanced diet, along with plenty of clean, fresh water, is essential for proper animal nutrition. PMI® Nutrition International manufactures an extensive line of animal diets for research purposes, each carefully formulated and tested to accommodate all nutritional requirements of laboratory animals. These requirements, the major components of food, are briefly described to provide an overview of basic animal nutrition for rats, monkeys, canines, and felines. Nutrition International a wholly owned subsidiary of Purina Mills, Inc., manufactures LabDiet products - diets used in research institutions throughout the world. We are proud to be the leader in research animal nutrition. You can rely on our innovative team to continue to offer products which meet the increasing demands of the research community. Nutrition International manufactures feeds with optimal nutritional content for your laboratory research animals. By using the best quality ingredients available, and applying rigid manufacturing specifications to every product, PMI Nutrition International produces superior quality diets. To ensure that your animals are getting proper nutrition, and that your laboratory results are as accurate as possible, the product should be stored according to recommendations and used within its shelf life. Although a number of factors influence the shelf life of a particular LabDiet product, the following information is provided as a guide to help you properly store your product and determine if a product has exceeded its shelf life. When data on a particular nutrient was scarce or unavailable, the ingredients were assayed. Our computer system was then updated, using this information, and recalculated the chemical composition of all of our products. The reported figure on the nutritional composition of the diets is determined by calculating the level of each nutrient contributed by each of the ingredients using a computer matrix. These values are checked occasionally by an analytical laboratory. As a result, the information in this revised version is the most accurate, and current available. Many pharmaceutical companies use cats in their laboratories to develop drugs for the treatment and prevention of feline diseases. Cats are also used extensively in basic research. Because their brain has been thoroughly mapped, cats are widely used as models in neurophysiologic research. In addition, the cat's eye is extremely well-defined and well-developed, making it a perfect model for basic visual research as well.
