Ryan Hall was recognized by USA Track & Field as 2007 Men's Long Distance Running Athlete Of The Year. The awards banquet, held during the 2007 USA Track & Field Annual Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, honored participants in track and field for their acheivements both on and off the track. 2007 has been an amazing year for Ryan, beginning with his record setting win at the men's US Half Marathon National Championship in January and ending with his win at the men's US Marathon Olympic Trials in November.

Ryan Hall showed that he is the new leader of American Distance Running by crushing the field in Saturday's Men's Marathon Olympic Trials. Running in cold and windy conditions, Ryan crossed the finish line in 2:09.02 with the 2nd place finisher more than 2 minutes behind.

Deena Kastor (Mammoth Lakes, CA) won the 2007 USA Women's 10K Championship, running 32:01 at the 31st Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women in Boston on Monday. Similar to the other National Titles she has won this year, Deena pulled away from the pack early with back to back 5:00 miles and led by 15 seconds after the second mile. She cruised through the next 4 miles extending her lead to 40 seconds at the finish over the 2nd place finisher, Katie McGregor, the 2-time defending champion. Deena adds this National Title to the 4 others (XC, Road 15K, Marathon, Track 10K) she has won this year. She now has won 23 National Titles in her career.
