MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TO SCRIMMAGE CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM IN PREPARATION FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Teams USA and Canada will be busy gearing up for World Championship this week at Los Alamitos. The teams will attend joint training sessions and play a series of friendly games before they depart for the Southern Cross Cup and FINA World Championships in March. USA WATER POLO MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM ANNOUNCES 2007 PREMIER LEAGUE DATES AND LOCATIONS: The 2007 season which runs from March - May, will showcase ten teams with three Premier League Tournaments and a Championship. A separate Zone Premier League will be run in conjunction with the Premier League. The ZPL is designed to stimulate the participation of players in each zone, utilizing the existing elite clubs and the zone national teams. KYLE SCHAFER AWARDED NCAA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP: Senior water polo player Kyle Schafer became the latest Air Force athlete to be named a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, announced Tuesday by the NCAA. [ MORE ] CHELSEA SMITH-CARMICHAEL EARNS SPIRIT OF SPORT AWARD: Smith, a member of the gold medal Junior Pan American Team, will be one of six student-athletes across California to be recognized by the California Interscholastic Federation in May. The award recognizes athletes who have demonstrated the principles of the CIF's Pursuing Victory with Honor. [ MORE ] 2007 NATIONAL ZONE CHAMPIONSHIP HOSTS AND LOCATIONS ANNOUNCED: The top 14 zone athletes in each age group and gender will participate in a three and 1/2 day event this Memorial Day weekend to determine a National Youth boys, Youth girls, Cadet boys and Cadet girls Champion. After the trophy ceremony for the victorious zones, USA Water Polo coaches will evaluate the attending athletes and announce their respective national team training squads.
